Why me? Why 50? Why now?

When my grandmother was in her 20s, she crossed the street from her workplace in the rain to have her portrait taken. It is a beautiful, classic portrait from the 1940s and shows a graceful, poised young woman full of promise and hope. That one image is the only real picture we have of her, because she had such low self confidence that she would put her hands in front of her face or hide whenever anyone pulled out their camera. I so wish we had beautiful images of grandma as I knew her, an older, wiser, mature woman. The woman refined by hard things and personal growth. I vowed that my kids would have photos of me as they knew me—not me in my teens or early 20s, but as they will remember me.

And I want that for you, too.

Although I’ve been a photographer for many years, when I was 50 I was able to fully indulge in my passion for creating beautiful portraits of regular women, particularly those who are a little bit older than the images we see in the media. There’s something truly beautiful, calm, and grounded about women over 50, and I want to capture it for the world to see. More importantly, I want you, as a 50+ woman, to connect again with yourself, to be pampered, and to know that you are important and cherished. Step forward, allow yourself to be seen and celebrated! Let’s create something for you and your family to treasure for years to come.

The image to the right was taken at my own session with a portrait photographer that I admire, Emily London Portraits. I’m always behind the camera, and believe me, I understand what it’s like to feel insecure in front of it! I’ve got you—from head to toe, I know how to pose you so you will look and feel AMAZING.

"Why should I participate?"

To do something empowering for yourself.

To honor what makes you beautiful and unique.

To embrace every freckle, line and scar no matter your age, shape or size.

To share your story about what it means to be a mature woman.

To stand in your own power with body-positivity, strength and courage.

To help other women realize their potential by stepping out of the shadows.

To learn to love the reflection looking back at you in the mirror.

To acknowledge that self love isn’t selfish.

To create a legacy for your family to enjoy for generations to come.
